It is widely thought that the better food is at truckstop restaurants. That is not always true but mostly. My wife and I were on a road trip to Indiana. We stopped in Amarillo for the night. Not really feeling like anything in particular for dinner the hotel hostess suggested we go down the street to Black Bear.
We are seated quickly. The service from April was fantastic. Now let me preface my comments that frying is an art. I ordered the chicken fried steak. The meal arrived hot. The fry on the CFS was a work of art. The flavor was "My God" good. The sides were more than ample and delicious. This was a real surprise to me. A truck stop restaurant serving world class goodness and super service.
